Key to Statistics Tables
Age
Refers to the age of the female patient at time of embryo transfer.
Stimulations
Refers to the number of patients who began ovarian stimulation with the goal of undergoing IVF. Note that not all patients who begin stimulation reach egg retrieval and embryo transfer.
Transfers
Refers to the number of patients who underwent a complete IVF treatment cycle including embryo transfer.
Pregnancy / Stimualation
Refers to the percentage of clinical pregnancies in all patients who began an IVF cycle. Note that this number is lower than the pregnancies / transfer column since some patients who begin stimulation will fail to have an embryo transfer.
Pregnancy / Embryo Transfer
Refers to the percentage of clinical pregnancies in all patients who completed an IVF cycle or successfully experienced an embryo transfer.
IVF
In Vitro Fertilization is the standard treatment for infertility. It is successful for most women, especially those under 35. Overall, the success rates for Dominion Fertility patients have shown a steady - in some cases, a dramatic - increase year after year.
Donor Egg
Whereas women under 35 do achieve IVF success rates as high as 83% with their own egg, those over 35 can enjoy the same success rates with a donated egg. The donor may be a friend or family member or she may be anonymous, selected from our large files of volunteers on the basis of many known characteristics.
