Our data shows that over half of our patients less than 40 years old achieve a clinical pregnancy after only 1 or 2 stimulated egg retrievals. Additionally, our Ova Donor program results in a clinical pregnancy for most patients after only one egg retrieval.

Commitment to Excellence

We are committed to only the highest standards of care. Dominion Fertility doctors and staff regularly attend conferences and scientific meetings allowing them to interact with other healthcare professionals in the same field. By continually training and educating our staff, we are better able to serve you and provide the most up to date technology available.

Most recently, in January 2007, we launched the first Natural Cycle IVF (NCIVF) program in the Washington, D.C. area. Our goal is to offer simpler, less stressful, less expensive and more natural IVF treatment to patients who don't want, or need, to use ovarian stimulation drugs. Natural Cycle IVF is commonly performed in Europe, and in December 2006, Dr. DiMattina attended the First World Congress on Natural Cycle IVF in London, England. The knowledge and information gained at this conference has allowed us to better perform this treatment on our patients.

Expert Credentials

Both Drs. DiMattina and Gordon are Board Certified on Obstetrics and Gynecology and Subspecialty Board Certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. They are the only two doctors in the country to take the 3-hour examination in Reproductive Medicine.

Both doctors teach OB/GYN interns, residents and medical students at local university hospitals, perform research and author medical publications. Additionally, Drs. DiMattina and Gordon have written a book titled, 100 Questions and Answers About Infertility, to address the questions most frequently asked by their patients. Awie Botes, our Chief Embryologist, has been performing IVF since 1979. Dr. DiMattina has been performing IVF since 1984, and Dr. Gordon since 1994. Such experience in our IVF program offers our patients an invaluable advantage and optimizes likelihood of success. Furthermore, we continually seek and utilize the most updated and recent advances available in Reproductive Medicine.

Reputation among colleagues and patients

Many new patients at Dominion Fertility are direct referrals from other physicians who have trusted us with their patients fertility care for many years. We also receive many referrals from our current and past patients who are very pleased with the level of care provided at Dominion Fertility.

As some of the strongest examples of this, several of Dr. Gordon's patients have followed him down to Virginia from New York. Many have become pregnant and reported excellent experiences well worth the travel involved. Recognizing that the bond between physician and patient is so strong, we emphasize the extremely personal nature of fertility care with each and every patient.

Our on-site laboratory is another example of the extent to which we pride ourselves on our record of success and personalized care. The Commission on Laboratory Accreditation of the College of American Pathologists (CAP) can evidence this commitment to quality treatment in their accreditation of our IVF program. Our laboratory has also received accreditation from CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments). These accreditations indicate that our IVF laboratory is part of an exclusive group of reproductive laboratories around the country that meet the highest standards of excellence as established by peers.
